Photography Policy

Hang Out Naked Midlands (HONM) may, at times, take photos at some of its events.

HONM Photography Policy

Last updated: 17 August 2025

HONM is acutely aware of the privacy needs of its attendees and aims to inform all attendees beforehand of the intention to take photographs. Those that have told us beforehand, who do not wish to be photographed, will not be included in any images taken.

You also have a responsibility to ensure that you do not include yourself in staged group shots etc. which are being taken for promotional purposes.

On the day, even if you previously consented, if you decide you no longer wish to be photographed, please inform the photographer and/or Event Coordinator.

The reason to take photographs is that getting 'real', appropriate images that convey the diversity of who attends, shows the freedoms that being naked offers and  encourages, is very challenging.  The photos taken will be naked, but non-sexual images, individual/group shots in as relaxed and natural interactions as possible. Some of those may show faces, others may not. These can be blurred/cropped as necessary.

Images will be used by HONM to share news about the group/ events and for future publicity for events and activities the group undertakes; to inform and encourage new members to join the group and come along in-person to events held.

These may include, but is not exclusive to:

  • Press releases/articles/HONM Newsletter

  • Printed/electronic publicity and promotional material

  • HONM website/ Facebook page and other online accounts

  • Social media channels - e.g. Instagram and BlueSky

Images taken will be edited before public use to ensure they are compliant with social media guidelines regarding nudity; this may include cropping/blurring areas if necessary etc. Further, if someone wishes to have areas obscured e.g. face, distinctive markings such as tattoos, or no ‘full-frontal’ image used, this can be done too, please inform us at the time or subsequent to the event., or just don’t be in the photograph.

Prior to use, as far as possible, those people in the images will be given the opportunity to see them, though this may not be possible in all circumstances, HONM will do its best to achieve this.

If after publication you wish to withdraw your consent to your image being used please email HONM at admin@honm.co.uk

Copyright to all images is retained by Hang Out Naked Midlands. Images will be stored securely and we will delete them after they are no longer needed for publicity purposes.

No other general event photography is permitted at HONM events, other than that taken by the official photographer or Event Coordinator. This is to ensure the privacy of all those attending the event. If you wish to have any pictures taken individually, or with others that consent, please ask during the event and we will direct you to a designated area for you to take those pictures.
