Following the development of HONM since it started in June 2025, we have reached a point where members are asking for more opportunities to interact outside of the events we hold, one such development being a chat channel.

Whilst there is a basic chat system on the website, this isn't as flexible or particularly good for group chats and interactions. ​It is appreciated that there is a desire to create community, dialogue between members and reduce isolation etc, something HONM is passionate about overcoming.

 

We have therefore decided to implement a Hang Out Naked Chat Group on Telegram. We hope this continues, reinforces and enhances the really positive interactions that have been made, for those that have attended any of the events. It will also give those that have not, or not able to attend, the chance to be in touch with others that follow the HONM ethos of social-only nakedness.

 

The Telegram chat will initially be available to:

• Anyone that has attended any HONM event e.g. the Sunday Meet-Ups and Life Drawing Group

• Those members of HONM that have put a face pic image on their profile on here in the members' area.

• Those members of HONM who are willing to include a face pic, either on their Telegram profile/handle, or include one in their first message in the chat section Tell Us About You
  (We have to have some method of Age Verification when using Telegram, we cannot allow hidden users on the channel).

How this Telegram Chat Group develops is largely down to how people use it and how effectively it supports the aims of HONM and the needs of the membership.

For it to work, there needs to be some oversight, which will be undertaken by two Administrators initially and also the implementation of the following protocols about use of the chat system on the site which aims to strike a balance in terms of how we interact with each other online:

​

• As with much of how HONM works and how consensual, positive social intimacy is created, start gently, ask permission perhaps to begin a one-one-one chat, or include someone in a small group chat, be thoughtful.
   

• Don’t assume someone wants to see or accept unsolicited images. Yes we are developing the group as a positive expression of being naked and naturist, that doesn’t give automatic permission to be sent pictures, again, ask first.
   

• In any public chat area, any images shared must be suitable and non-sexualised/not erotic. Use your judgement! It is also suggested that this isn't a Daily Dick Pic site either...We know some people like to show 'it' off...but that often!?1?    :-)
   

• We have set the privacy levels as high as we can. The group is private and only accessible by invitation. Message forwarding, screen shot taking etc. is prevented. However, be mindful Telegram is not end-to-end encrypted. DO NOT SEND SENSITIVE INFORMATION. 
   

• We are working on developing Topics within the chat to enable people to make contributions on say, a potential future event/activity, to make suggestions for things we could do, to share information on relevant things happening that align with HONM, to chat about what they are doing etc. 
   

• Be mindful of continuously sending whole group messages. We want to create community, not feel like we are being spammed.
   

• If you want to chat to a smaller group, you can select members individually, before sending out a group chat message to just those selected. That function may become more beneficial as people build social networks over time.
   

• Alongside these Protocols, anyone in the chat group must also uphold and comply with the Rules of Conduct of HONM. The link to these are given on the chat system.
   

All of this will be kept under review and we appreciate your patience, feedback and thoughts as we go forward in this development of HONM.
